My favorite bmx memory was not any of the riding, more of proving myself, more of people accepting me. i was like a wanna be BMXer and they never invitied me places or anything. but like later they did and it was all about proving myself. they were a group of 4 and i knew whenever i would leave they would make fun of me. but one time we went to grants trail in ST. LOUIS and i jumped the first canyon. they never had the balls to do it so i thought i would. i also did things at skateparks that they wouldnt do like the right rythm at RAMPRIDERS STL and stuff and trying tricks and just becoming friends with them and hanging out with them was and is the best part. always having that group of guys you can hang out with, ride with, and just like have a good time with. meant a lot to me

My best BMX memory is the most recent. BMX has played a huge part in my life sine I was about 11 years old. In the summer of 2007 the city plowed my dirt jumps and mini ramp to the ground and I stopped riding shortly after. That winter I joined the Marine Corps. After being in the Corps for a while I started to realize that I missed the ability to ride. Eventually though, I started to forget about BMX all together. I'm currently stationed in Japan and have been here for about a year or so. I stumbled upon a small BMX shop in Hiroshima and it sparked some memories that made me want to ride again but the motivation quickly faded since I didn't have a bike here. Just recently, my mother became very ill and I had to take emergency leave back to the states. My bike was still there in the garage and I decided that I would put it back together and hit up the skatepark for some stress relief. I rode two nights in a row. The second night, I ran into a few of my old riding buddies there at the park. We had an awesome session. I was starting to get back into the groove, throwing some of my old tricks, but most importantly, having a good time. After the session we all went out to eat and started talking about the old times and how much fun we used to have, the crazy things we used to do, the trips we took and how different things are today. That night, I realized how much I've actually changed in the past two and a half years. In that one evening, I completely changed my entire outlook on life, and decided to stop taking it so seriously. Since then, I've been doing my best to live every day to the fullest and to have the most fun I possibly can and not sweat the small stuff that used to get me down on a daily basis. One of these days I'll be too old to do so, and one of these days I won't be here. The next morning I boxed up the bike and shipped it to Japan. It hasn't arrived here yet but it's a large package and is probably struggling to get through customs but I'm anxious for it to arrive. It's one passion that I should have never forgotten, and it's lead me to this recent self discovery, and for that I don't think I could ever forget about it again. It's not so much the riding itself that makes this my favorite memory, it's the people that I was reunited with, the fun times we had, the lives we lived, and the way it's made me think about everything as a whole.

I think my favorite bmx memory would have to be the first time I went to the park. I was 16, and was, and still am, the only girl rider at the park. I dragged my mom along with me because I was so nervous about riding for the first time. I sat on my bike, doing absolutely nothing for the better part of an hour. I was about to leave when one of the veterans at the park started talking to me. I told him I was pretty nervous, and he told me to follow him. He rode around the park with me showing me all the best spots to start. I guess when it comes down to it, it just embraces the overall vibe of the bmx community. Noone cares who you are or what your experience level is, they're just there to ride. Afterall, we do ride little kid's bikes. You've just gotta have fun.

Well, as far i can remember my favorite BMX memory is my friends pushing me to nail that trick, and i can tell u that was a huge jump into a street ramp, i was afraid in the the beggining but i push myself to the limits and it was a sucess i nail it ! Then we went to a pub and beer to everyones :D
That's the real spirit of BMX, is to push ourselfs to the limit, because that felling is unique!

Mine would have to be going to the Dew Tour in Portland a few years back. The riders were amazing, and at the time my parents wouldn't let me go alone, so I had to drag them to the comps with me, even if they weren't excited about, that pretty much made my life for a while. I just couldn't believe that I was actually there watching and meeting my favorite riders in person and not through a television screen. By the time we left even my parents were starting to mike the whole action sports scene!
All the best athletes in the scene were there, and I just couldn't belieive my eyes. My family had no idea how much that meant to me, and what it did for me at a time when I was really struggling with a lot of things.

My favorite was definetly the day I was performing at a king bmx stunt show at the north carolina state fair in 2009. I got to try scooter dons scooter and I fractured my left kneecap (that still hasnt healed) falling out of the trailer trying to get out of kenny the fmx riders way. I hit a sewage pipe cap thingy and it hurt like hell. I saw some wicked stuff on bmx and fmx, got to hype up the shows, got a demo cd from DJ OLDSOUL, got detained for trying to break out of hand cuffs running through the fair streets, and partied hard as hell. I dont remember the party. But ask about it. I was told I through up on a bouncer at the metro cafe, danced on the hottest chick in the club then walked off like I didnt care, walked through the street singing and rapping and got pushed into a fence, fell on top of alex johanns car, and ended up passing out in a water puddle in the motel room (everybody said it was my piss but i dont want to beleive that). Over all I got a jump start to my career as a rapper and got a ton of footage for youtube while meeting a whole lot of riders that im now friends with. I will never forget that week for the rest of my life. I constantly look at the videos to learn new tricks. I found out a whole lot how hard they are and I end up getting told Im a dumbass for trying them without having another trick down first. It has oppened up so many opportunities like going to king of the animal house invitational. Great riding by the way man.

my favorite memory is when my friend rented the flow skatepark and it was the first time i ever rode an actual skatepark. the flow has a foam pit so me and my brother decided to learn backflips. with 10 minutes left of our 3 hour session, me and my brother both pulled backflips to a box. i bailed my first one and jumped over the bars when i was upside down but i still landed on my feet. but i got up as soon as i fell because i knew i could land it. i landed the 2nd try. i was pumped because it was my first time to a skatepark and i pulled a backflip. i couldnt hit the rhythm sections or do an x up but i pulled a flip. we got them on video too so i was even more pumped.

riding bmx grew into a passion and i look up to ryan guettler alot. hes so smooth and has sweet tricks. and i want these shoes alot... ive never owned a pair of vans but these look awesome. and i need new shoes bad haha

Hello, Ryan! This is Yura from Moscow. Ok, I would like to tell my memory.

Last winter me and my friend decided to ride bmx at -28 degrees. In our capital there are no parks which you can ride in winter, so we need to ride to dirt. It was about 10km from my house. So we started out travel. We wear 2 t-shirts, 2 trousers, lot of socks and 2 jackets. Next I met my friend near my house and we rode to dirt. It was very hard, bcz there are a lot of snow and no asphalt. At quarter of our way we stopped, have a little restt, bought food and coca cola in the shop. Put it all in bags and start to travel farther. At half of out trip there was a small hill, so we decided to walk. It was rly cold so we didnt speak. When we upped, we took 2nd rest and ate some food, it was a roll. After a rest we started our hard trip. We walked and walked, I was at this dirt only once, so I didn't remember how to get to it well. On the way was a small forest, cause dirts was at the edge of the city. So we entered it and walk and walk, walk and walk , trees and snow, trees and snow. After long walk we was military base, there were a lot of tanks, weapons, cannons, guns. We saw 2 soldiers and asked how to get to asphalt) They told us, so we walked farther cause there were a lot of snow. So we found this asphalt road and ride on bikes down. At half of this road were 3 path made by ppl, so we need to change one of this, which will take us to dirt. We choosen the middle path and went down on it. After 10 minutes we heard voices, we ran to them and saw a big hill. Near it was dirt, we were so happy. We greet people and took a small rest. Next we were very thirsty, we took from a bag coca cola but there were ice in place of it. We saw that other riders drunk hot tea from thermos. We very destressed, we froze but took bikes and started to jump dirts. After 10 min me and friend couldnt feel out arms and legs. We took bikes and ride all our power back) At half of road we were like a big ice, pain was in all parts, hard to breathe but we rode all power even there was very very cold. When I came home, I put my bmx and ran to bath, I took hot shower, for me it was very cool, I was in the 7th sky. After that I didnt ride until the timperature will grow down.

Thank you for reading my memory store. Sorry for my bad English cause there is bad education. Hello from Russia and Maryono Team!

p.s. I would like to give review and suggestion about whip 2 and whip3. Now I ride (at the moment not ride cause of snow) whip2, they are very comfortable but I think they are not so durable. Cause of riding few monts with tailwhips, part which I catch whips torn. So I wish to make them more dureable.

Again thanks to all. Wish to all to come in Russia in winter, drink russian vodka and ride bmx all day))

Here is a photo from start of winter, now all days there are a lot of snow day by day more and more

It was on a day in the summer holiday's, me and my friends made a campfire at our skatepark. There was a guy who had brougt tons of meat (ribs) with him, we roasted the meat on our fire and we had a great meal. We road our bike's and we sat by our fire all night until the cops came and we had to run.
Luckily nobody got caught.

My favorite BMX memory was during one of our summer weekend races when we lived in El Paso, TX were my father was stationed while in the U.S. Army. I was chasing the first place rider over a King Kong double set of whoopies when he suddenly wrecked over the first hill and I instinctively got enough air to go over him and down the side into another set of doubles finally coming to another burn and the win! Nothing like the taste of victory at the end of a hard fought race to remind you why BMX racing keeps getting better each year.

Not a favorite but definitely memorable. My little brother was outside on his bmx bike and decided to go out and do tricks without a shirt on. He didn't land a trick right and ended up jamming the handle bar into his chest. He comes running in the house screaming "Help! Help! I think I lost my nipple!" Things ahave been pretty good since theh

I would have to say that most memorable (not most favorite) would have to be when my son was tricking on the sidewalk with his BMX and decided to run over a ball. Needless to say he didn't run it over. It stopped him in his tracks, flipped him over the handle bars and the handle bars went right into his stomach. That was 7 years ago and he still has a scar on his stomach from his feat.

The one time i will never forget riding my bike was when i was visiting my sis in jersey city and got to go to the brooklyn banks for the first time. I remember rolling up to the many kids enjoying what i had wanted to experience for so long. I met some really cool kids from long island and we all rode like deadmen then i got a flat, the chill kids i had just met brought me to tyrone williams shop,Then helped me fix my tire, after that we rode, we rode all through the city and eventually went back to the banks. when we got there we saw tyrone williams getting filmed by discovery channel, i think, so we talked to a filmer and they wanted to film us, this was amazing to me,we all signed releases and started throwing our tricks for the camera. This was the greatest and most memorable day for me, ive never had so much fun or been so sore from riding in my life.

We went to the Flair BMX shop to buy a new backweel, but the guy in the shop convinced my dad to buy me a hole new wethepeople justice. After that, I went to the Berlin 'skatehalle' to try my new bike out. I coudn't speak to anybody there becaus I don't speak German, but I had the best time! The only thing I didn't like about Berlin was that they closed the Mellowpark just a week before I got there.

My favorite bmx memory was probably when my friend can over and i ran outside and saw him do a 180 barspin. i was flipping out and lost my head. thats also when i got in bmx too, and ever since my friend been teaching me. i saw him do that barspin and thats been my favorite trick forever. i can actually do barspins better then my friend and he is the one that thought me, hahaha. also i never really had any shoes to ride with, i was 12 when i started riding and i rode bikes with a k-swiss shoe. as of right now im still wearing the k-swiss shoes and im 16 right now. there almost about to not fit me no more, and there are rips all over the shoe. but riding bikes in street is sooo much FUN ! im actually going to go outside and ride right now because my friend is over and we wanna ride, hahaha, Lots OF FUN, Later...

My favorite bmx memory was the day Gatoare had held a contest at Jaycee skatepark. This is my favorite bmx memory because that day tought me of how sour my attitude was to other bmxers and that being respectful should be my top prioity. After watching a video about mat Whyatt and seeing how humble he was to have left home and come all this way to chase his dream. Eveytime i ride, I now think of how hard it really is to leave home and only have a bike to survive.

My favorite riding memory was when me and some friends drove to these trails in capitolia california. The trails are on a cliff with a 100foot - 200foot drop overlooking the ocean . The trails are pretty close to the edge of the cliff. I tried to 360 the second doubble and i ended up over rotating. I tried to slow down, but I was riding brakeless at the time, I ended up riding off the cliff. Luckely i landed on a small tree that was sticking ot of the cliff. My friends thought i was dead but luckely the tree saved my life. If that tree wasent there I would of been dead. Almost every time i get on my bike i think of the moment of right when i was riding off the cliff.

I think my favorite bmx memory was when we got bikes allowed in the skatepark in the little town Cody Wyoming that I call home. We don't have a lot of street you have to be really creative explore some crazy back alleys and then there is the crazy stuff that you have to be pretty gnarly to do. We have a pretty fun skatepark that is a collection of bowls small rails and boxes but its what we got. So for the longest time all the total of about 6 bmxers just rode the park. We always had to run from cops and some of us even had to pay tickets. But it was so worth it. But we finally got the city to consider letting bikes into the skatepark. About a week later they had a meeting about letting bikes in me and my homies got all the really good people that have been riding since they were my age and are still in this town that dont really ride the park cause of the illegal thing to show up to the meeting and after the meeting it was decided that we were gunna let bikes in and we had the biggest bmx jam session ever I think it was probably the best feeling ever!!!! And now we ride the park everyday without having to worry about gettin a ticket or running from the cops.

Sup Guy/Girl reading this,

Waking up happily at 10:02 am i put on some skinnies, rotten vans shoes, and a shirt.
The only things to take on this amazing voyage are the house keys, eye drops, and juke-box with earphones.
As I walk in slow-mo to the backyard I feel my arm get goosebumps rapidly from the excitement of seeing my glorious bike! Leaving with hard nipples, pedaling calmingly to P-Rod park. I sense the wind punching me with nice relaxing summer air, listening to angry beats that sooth the mind wishing I could be stuck in this happyness.
Arriving I notice the best people I will ever meet! We sweat our hearts through blood and pain from having real fun massacring the streets day and night. That is the memory i live every single day. Hopefully none of you great riders forget your roots.

it wasnt actually riding but it was on our way home from a contest. on the freeway one of my friends in another car drove up and threw a bouncy ball threw the window. so in retaleation, in the back seat of my freinds small 2 door car i pissed in a condom to throw at em, but it ripped on my zipper and started leaking like water a balloon all over. i held it out the front window from the back seat trying to tie it off wile, ryan, the driver was laughin his ass off, and luke the one sitting in front of me was almost crying, screaming let it! go cuz it was spraying back in the car all over him! hahaha! in the end, i missed the throw at the other car so luke and i were coverd in piss 4 nothing. HaHaHa that was fun trip back when i had enough friends that rode to fill up 2 cars for a trip b4 they got sucked into only drinking and girl friends.

I remember one night we went to a session and i was the very last person let in with a line of about 50 more people behind me. I was so stoked i got to ride since milpitas is about an hour an a half away from my house. good times for sure. R.I.P Vans Miplitas!!!!

Favorite bmx memory is a hard thing to narrow down for sure. I guess one that stands out for me is the first time riding street in minneapolis, mn. I come from a tiny town in mn where the only thing we rode was a curb and some sketchy trails I had running, so this was just such a mind opening experience for sure. Plus I saw hobo's and prostitutes for the first time.... BONUS!!!!!

Not trying to be gay and name drop but one thing that made me think damn.... was being in the same room watching Rad with Ryan Nyquist. I saw him sitting there and I was like holy shit...like star struck. Hahahaha. He was always my favorite rider when i was tiny like 10 years old, First bike was a backtrail x1, had his little finger bike (same bike and color I had) with his character, and there he was chillin 3 feet from me. hahaha. Semi-embarassing but whatever. Being not too long ago shows memories can be made tomorrow

My favorite riding memory is from last summer.
I went out with my girl. I had my camcorder, a tripod and the most beautiful girl in the whole world. I rode and filmed for 2-3 hours and she loved watching me. I just loved getting inspired by her, the music and the great July weather of Iceland. After wards when we got home I imported the clips I had filmed and was so stoked on the footage I could hardly believe it!
Love your new shoe by the way.
Check what came out of those days and a couple more sessions alone here.

man... so many... its like every time i get on my bike i can remember everything... i think my favorite memory of riding a bike was the first time i picked one up and started carving the local bowl in my hometown (back in the day). It was a sunny day and my parents had gotten me the bike for christmas. i didn't really know how to ride it that much (but over the years i got better). then one day i went to the skatepark and i was just ridin around. then a guy came up to me and taught me how to drop in. as soon as i got it dialed, it was like nothing in the world mattered. it was just me and my bike. i, then on learned to do tricks and realized that this is what i love to do. My hellasweet jump on my pk ripper over almost 6 feet of tires stacked up( at least thats as tall as i remember it-lol). I slowly rode up and dropped into a bowl jump. steep down both sides. I had crashed into the tires about 10 times before. tucked the bike so my ass was on the rear wheel. felt like i was in the air for days. air jordan who. barely cleared the tires and a good landing. the high was short lived as I thought I could clear it better. miss judged this time and front tire wedged in the center of the tires and flipped it. no guts no glory. lol.

My favorite BMX memory would have to be my first time as an OSI/camp counselor at Woodward West back in 2004. I meet Shawn Dorton who was super nice and he introduced me to Taj and his girlfriend at the time Amie. Shortly after Amie fell in the bowl in the hanger and knocked out her teeth. I was so scared to ride the ramps since they were so slick and after seeing what happened to her. I also met Adam Banton who was really nice along with Hollywood Mike and so many other cool riders. The whole atmosphere was so positive and made you ride at your full potential. Shortly after my visit to Woodward West I went out to California for a while and just rode my bike and stayed at my friend Annie’s house. We went to NORA cup for the first time at this club called ICE in Vegas. We stayed in this shady hotel just off the strip. So many amazing memories that year. So much fun!

Hi...My favorite riding memory happens EVERY DAY!!!!! I have 3 sons. Ages 17, 15 and 14. (my oldest is my profile pic) ...all 3 are EXCELLENT riders. i would have to say that my best bmx memory was when i got my second bike. My first bike was a walmart schwinn and got me rollin. but after that thing hit the dust some lake jumping put it to bed. My parent aren't ever up for me spending mor than 50 bucks for a bike, but i found my options. i went to my local shop and asked if they had anything in the back i could take off their hand. luckily they did. i walked out of there with an old robinson race bike. i kept that rusty old piece of junk leaning against my bed every night for the next week. that feeling of having a real bmx bike never felt so good.

I was just 10 years old and my mom and dad decided to buy me my first BMX. I thought it was just a dopey bike at first but then as I mastered it throughout that year, I was jumping up to ride. I got many bumps and bruises from that good old BMX and still have it today for my own son. Now I can show my son everything I learned down the road and allow him to discover new ways of breaking in his BMX just like I did. Of course, with bumps and bruises to be expected. ROCK on BMXERS!!!

my all time favorite memory of bmx is when i had just built my bike and that night at midnight-ish, my cousin and i decide to go ride the back yard trail he had... then we built a new jump, it was a four foot kicker right at the top of a ten foot wall that was above his drive way, and we built a 5 foot tall landing about 25 feet out in the drive way. my cousin trys a couple of times first while im tryin to get stoked to do it. hes landing it almost perfect after 2 or 3 times... then me trying to be a bad ass i try to do a tail whip over it first try... bad idea, i came down mid-whip let go of the bike and land with my hand under my back, snap, i broke my left wrist had 2 pins in it... but that was by far my favorite bmx memory because i remember being so stoked about that jump and then a week or two after getting my cast off, i could clear it and do 360's over it, i never tried the t-whip again tho.

my favorite memory of bmx happened about four months ago when i finally finished the beach and peach trails in jacksonville florida. in 2005 i had a bad wreck and cant ride anymore. i love bmx soo much and wanted to stay in the sport that the only way i was able to do so is to shoot photography and build trails for all my boys to ride. i had been digging my trails everyday for 2 months by myself till i finished about four months ago. the day when all the jumps were primed and ready to go i had a jam and bbq with everyone. being able to watch all of them ride the jumps that i built with my injury was soo rewarding and it kind of felt almost like i had been riding them myself. you know that feeling when you try a new trick over and over and crash a bunch of times and get so upset to pull it perfect the next try. thats kind of how it felt to be able to create a wonderland for my boys. every one always asks me why i build them when i cant ride? my answer is the love of bmx and the fact that because of that, i am the staple for bmx dirt jumping in jacksonville florida. without me there wouldnt be any trails and my friends appreciate that. i simply love bmx and the whole culture that it created inside me. THANK YOU BMX.....

Favorite BMX memory would have to be when all my buddies got together at the local park and had a mini jam. No film, No photos just straight up shredding and a good old time. Learning Turndowns, bars, and t-bogs was also friggin awesome. Now I have 2 herniated discs in my back and I've been out for a couple months. . . Hopefully I can get healed up to get shreddin again. .

My favorite BMX moment will always be spending a whole night riding around town with a couple of friends, two of the four of us were going into the military (I was not one of them) so we figured this was the best way to see the guys off. We hit all of our normal spots and tried a few new ones, some tricks were hit and a lot were missed, we even went through a whole disposable camera taking photos. In fact, since we knew most of the town's officers we never got hassled it made the night even better because that meant more riding.
Since that time we've all moved on to different things; my pals have survived their times in the service but we don't see each other much now and we don't get together to ride anymore, but BMX brought us together and that one night of riding made all the crashes, cuts, and bruises well worth the effort.

My fondest BMX memory took place during the summer of 2003. Up until that point, I was playing Football (American's refer to as Soccer) at the collegiate level. I had ridden BMX years prior to attending the university, and was requested by my coach to sign an agreement not to participate in any other sport disruptive to my scholarship at the school. Adhering to his request and in full recognition of my education, I sadly parted ways with the sport until the season was over. That season of football however, would be my last. After experiencing the tarnished image of organized sports for final time, I commuted back home, where a good friend of mine and a long standing member of the BMX community was waiting. Bike-less and rusted, he lent me an extra set of wheels to accompany him on the trails. Needless to say, after prolonged distance from BMX, my skills were less than perfect. The next thing I knew, I overcompensated my speed, and was thrown over the bars, only to lie bloody and battered within the dirt. My friend rushed over in aid, only to find me laughing hysterically. After asking me if I was ok, I simply replied to him, "I'm just happy to be back on a bike". Four large permanent scars later have left with me with a consistent reminder of what passion I hold for BMX. Although my endorphins ran high to subdue the pain, it's a constant reminder of how human I really was, and as long as I was to remain on this earth as such, I knew that BMX would always run its within the life blood. I have ridden ever since that day, and will continue to do so from here on out and into that big quarter pipe in the sky.

My favorite BMX memory has to be from a couple summers ago. Everyone around here used to just ride up to the local track and hang out and ride all day. It wasn't much but we made the best of it. I remember waking up everyday going to the track and knowing I would see my friends there. They were always there. I bet iIcan still go up there and still see some of my friends just hanging out and riding. That has to be my best BMX memory.

A lot of people have different memories of bmx. Well here is mine. My favorite bmx memory was back in 2008. It was the end of the summer, on a saturday evening when I decided to go to the skatepark. As soon as I got to the skatepark I drop and started riding. First I got warmed up to do some tailwhips up a quater. At the time I was very fond on bunny hop whips, not that I could do one. It was just that I thought it was a really cool trick. A couple minutes later thea bmxer and his friend come into the skatepark. The guy drops in and does a tailwhip over not to big of a pyrmid. This was in the first minute he was in there. He then pops up out of the ramp and introduces hisself. And I was like dude was whip he was like ya man. Then I asked how long u been ridin for. He said 9 years. Approximately 10 seconds after, he cruses on flat ground, then does a "bunny hop tailwhip". That was the first time I had ever seen one before and it was totally awesome! It was so dope that when I saw it, and I swear it was in slow motion. Seeing that trick gave me so much motivation that I was inspired by bmx.
That was my favorite BMX memory.

One good memory I have about BMX is going to the mall one day and I see a trailer set up in the parking lot with a quarter pipe set up on the side of it. It was Eddie Fiola and Todd Anderson busting out mad air on it. Todd was blasting 10ft One footers and Eddie was throwing down flatland tricks. That was such a great day. I got my picture taken with Eddie that I still have to this day. It got even better years later now that I'm friends with Eddie on Facebook.

i used to rollerblade and my friends were bmxers. one day my friend called me over and he had dirrt jumps. i felt left out because i couldn't ride cause i had rollerblades. one day i brought my crappy bmx bike over and was clearing the jumps. i can say i was kind of showing them up. from that day i started biking and loved it. in my first month of riding i ended up loving more but with 17 stitches in my leg and my head from riding street. i finally got a new bike and started riding the flow on my bike. i have only been riding since april and i've got a lot of tricks down. i would say my favorite momnet was when i cleared my friends dirt jump when they couldn't

My favorite bmx memory was the day I landed my first 180 because I heard that the road fools rock and roll tour was coming within driving distance and had never tried anything other than small manuals and low bunnyhops before that. I was so excited about landing the 180 that it was all I could think about during the over an hour drive to Eisenbergs in Plano, Texas. It was the first time I had ever seen a bicycle in a skatepark in person and I was mesmerized by how high everyone was going, I could just imagine how excited I would be if I ever could do those things and it made me really anxious to try so I've been riding ever since. Also having Ryan Nyquist standing in front of me and seeing Morgan Wade do multiple tire taps to front flips into the foam pit blew my mind, not to mention seeing his future wife riding the 11 foot halfpipe which after all these years I still won't touch was an incredible experience.

Well, my earliest (and probably one of the best ones) BMX memory is the video that got me into BMX in the first place. It was Corey Martinez's part in one of the Federal videos. It's just him doing his thing a usual, but the 720 off the curved wall was something I never saw in my entire life. At that time, I was till riding a MTB and I didn't really know what BMXs were, since there was only one in my town (a green Kawasaki one. Go figure.).
Therefore I decided to buy myself a DK complete (think it was a 2002 Venom or something) customized by a local website. The frame didn't last very long. The bars were already kind of bent. I liked the circus-style grips though. After that, I started saving money for my parts and ended up with my current setup, which I'm really satisfied with. Now I'm saving money for my video equipment.

As for the favorite memory, I must say that having a private riding/filming session in Vienna's best indoor skatepark, with some of the best local pros (Senad Grosic is an amazing rider!) is really something that is unforgettable. I hope to be this lucky to repeat the same experience.

Another fav memory (I hope it's not too much), is when I opened VitalBMX to discover that I'm one of the winners of SunRingle's "Name the rim" contest. I entered because I was bored and eventually ended up with a breand new front and rear wheelset. THANKS VITAL AND SUN!

That'd be it. I could keep on writing, but I figure I'd steal too much of your time. Thanks to Ryan and Vans for this contest.

Cheers from Croatia,
Luka

I really don't have a "favorite" BMX moment i just love BMX overall but if i had to choses i would choses is Daniel Dhers doing the cash roll, i just thought it was so crazy and it looked so cool, another one would be Dave Mirra doing the 360 no-handed backflip a.k.a the air traffic control. But these are just some of my favorite but really the BMX moment i will remember the most is when I first really discovered BMX, it was just this past summer that i have found it and i wan to spend all my time on my bike. I was originally a skater so i knew a bit about BMX then i kinda got tired of skateboarding so i was in my local bike shop and i saw a BMX bike so i did some looking and i was just amazed so i saved up enough money to buy a mirraco and it was the best feeling when i nailed my first bunny hop i practice everyday for 2-3 weeks straight. So these are some of my favorite BMX moments.

My favorite bmx memory
was when i was 20 years old
and it was around january I believe.. 2010.
my favorite bmx rider at the time, Ryan Guettler, was giving away some sunnys and a pair of shoes.
And he looked at me and was like, Jeff Rogers you look like you need a pair of super light shoes with double-waffled soles made with the rider in mind and some sungoggles.
I was like yeah? I think you're right.
SO he gave me some vans and some sun glasses because he knew if he gave me these shoes
and glasses
I would accomplish great things.
ON A SERIOUS NOTE. I broke my jaw about 3 or 4 months ago doing a flip lookback out of a pocket/hip at my local concrete park it was the worst experience of my life. I guess I over rotated and slammed my face on the ground. My mouth was wired shut for FIVE weeks I had to get 6 stitches in my chin and two metal plates in my jaw. I was in the hospital for four days. I lost over 30lbs due to the all liquid diet I was put on for five weeks, since my mouth was wired shut.. anways. After I recovered I managed to land the flip lookback over the same hip I broke my jaw on. It was such an amazing experience to overcome something I was so scared to do, which is why it has to be my favorite bmx memory.

My best memory of BMX was when I was the first time biking in ''everland'''. I saw BMX'ers shredding. I saw BMX'ers do huge airs and barspins and tailwhips! At that time I thought: ''Wow, I want to ride BMX''! I didn't now anybody besides my friend in ''everland''. I walked to everybody and keep them busy with my questions about BMX. Now I can do barspins and airs. And also now I keep the pro's busy with my questions and I keep looking at them, and the huge airs and tailwhips and barspins. BMX is just keep shredding and making fun, it's no competition like soccer. It's just different, much more fun! BMX is different than soccer because you can be different than someone else, you can do other tricks. I LIKE BMX!! Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I rember a time that wasnt to long ago when me and three of my friends went to a skate park and we all fit into an eclips, the funny thing was is that three of us are over 200 lbs so everytime we hit a bump or made a turn on the highway we would have to lean the other way so the wheel wouldnt rub on the wheel well that was a good day of riding and smelling like burned rubber.

my favorite bmx memory would probably be my first 360 i landed ever, which was last summer. I drove over an hour to a skate park with some of my friends in my mini van, it was a hot summer day, and there was this one ramp that seemed to launch you perfect, and after about 4 hours of trying, i finally landed one, then another, then on the next one, i slammed my back tire on a grind bench which popped my tube and dented my rim. but i still landed a 360 and it felt awesome!

My favorite memory happened this week when I saw the photos of Mike Aitken going up & down a rail, He is a very big inspiration to me & probably most of the BMX community. How he got back from almost dying, then to hearing that he will probably never ride a bike again. He re-learned how to talk & walk, & after all the hard work he put in it finally paid off & he got to ride his bike again. His style of riding is amazing to watch & I can't wait to see what he has in store for coming back after all this!

That's my memory, Thanks.

I life in a town called Selfoss in Iceland, it is a park here but so tiny, like one spine and very small funbox. So me and my friends just build our own park next to my house, a transfer and ramps and boxes and just allot of things. It was so much fun doing it and still today we are making ramps for the park, this is probably my best BMX memory

It would be cool to win a pair of the shoes because Iceland don´t sell BMX shoes

But thank you

my favorite memory is when all the Fuquay trails crew went and had the most ballin jam ever with hot dogs and all sorts of people came out from all over carolina just to ride at the trails i worked on every week just for this type of occasion and towards the end of the day i finally grab enough balls to hit the most ballin amazing line in NC hands down like straight up third jump is the best feeling ever invented. go through the entire line second try and am probably the most stoked ever. after that i just start flowin it and when that happens i start making space ship sounds because there is nothing better than flowing a huge set while making spaceship sounds. and there must be nothing better than making spaceship sounds in front of your friends while flowing a huge set. then, this one guy was sellin these ballin tees at the jam and was like, "alright anyone who worked their ass of to get this place running gets a shirt, anyone else is ten dollars" and i was like sweeeeeeeet!

Probably the best day ever. . .
so far at least.

Hei, Ryan! I am a rider from Estonia and I have riden bmx for 3 and a half years now. With 3 years I have had so many positive memories and some bad injuries, but I thought I would talk about this one contest: Ülemiste freestyle '07.
Me and my friend Andu thought to just go and watch the event, because we both had riden bmx for such a little time then. The contest point was that there was a track with multiple obstacles, like a dirt jump, ditch, a car wreck etc., and you had to clear the course faster than your opponent. When we got there, at first we just watched how some riders were practising, there were only 15 riders or smth and the announcer kept calling in for more riders. I decided to try the track before, which I did, and the dirt jump was the biggest I had ever jumped, but still I decided to compete, after I had signed my name I had such an andrenaline rush, because it was my first contest. I had two qualification runs and through mirracle or smth I managed to win them both, adrenaline pumping like never before and my GT complete bikes bars bent like never before, I steped into the finals with two other guys who had very dialed bikes. I got a third place and a nice trophy and some red bull. It was so far the best day in my bmx life - I had won my first award in my first contest

Ryan, you are the biggest maddog/legend ever!! your such a cool guy and an absolutely SICK rider.
My favourite memory of riding bmx for me so far was when I was a the jam at menai skatepark a few months ago. Everyone there just was so sweet not only at riding, but they were such mad dudes. I met so many awesome guys, learnt heaps of new tricks, won some new parts, and had one of the best times of my life. I just didn't want to leave!! That is easily the best day on a bmx that I have ever had. The bmx scene in Australia is so awesome and I wouldn't have it any other way. Every bloke you meet is so nice and basically all of them are so good too! and even better about Australian bmx, is that nearly everytime you go to a good place, you'll meet a pro and it just tops your day. They are all such great dudes. Like just the other day, I was at monster and Andy Buckworth was there. He is awesome and he even helped me learn some new stuff. I'm just so happy with how bmx is over here man.
Btw Ryan, you'd know a awesome bloke named Julian Green, wouldn't you? Well he/his shop were they main organisers of the jam. Just felt like telling you. ahaha :D
YOU ABSOLUTELY ROCK MAN AND IT WOULD MEAN SO MUCH TO ME TO WIN THIS STUFF!!! GO THE AUSSIES!!!!!!!!

Well my favorite BMX memory was when i had just turned 13 years old.

(This is what got me into BMX)

Me and some family were going to the Phoenix Zoo and believe it or not they allow bikes into the park. So we went and i ended up bringing my old mongoose. It was in april and it was already getting pretty hot. And all i remember was just being in my own world i mean it was just amazing to me to discover someting that you like (And now love with a passion) was just amazing to me. They had theese little dirt trails at the back of the park by the lions LOL. And i remember going back there and just pedaling as fast as a little 13 year old boy could. Probaby going faster than they wanted me to but i didnt care one bit because i was having SO much fun. It was just a GREAT time and now ive been riding for 2 1/2 years now and dont play on stoping anytime soon.
And the ONLY Bmx shoes i wear are VANS!!!!
So a HUGE thanks to Ryan, Vans, And VitalBMX for the opportunity to win some awesome Vans Whip3 shoes.

Thanks Guys!! :-)

although i have lots of memories of good times with riding just to be different and keep it short and sweet
one of things in bmx i will never ever forget dates back to 2006 at the san jose dew stop in dirt finals when it was aussies that took 1st to 6th and i believe ryan actually took the top spot that day, that day id never been more stoked to be australian and was so proud of all the guys that contest and the amazing riding they threw down then and still continue to do, hopefully one day they get the recognition they deserve not just by the bmx scene over here like they already do but just everyone else in australia cause all the guys over there now are a great inspiration to myself and many other bmxers here in australia

i just got vans whip 2s. fml. haha.

my favorite memory is when i was at the fox pedal to the metal tour and my friend popped my tire so i told him he had to help me fix it and we were in the skatepark and some dude walks by and i just look up and ask him for help and then i look at him and its mike aitken. i couldnt get the tire off of the rim and it turns out he had a metal tire lever in his hand (we were using plastic ones that couldnt do the job) and he got it off first try. such a nice dude to help out two 14 year old kids who couldnt get their tire off. mike aitken is my hero.

and btw, im on my 3rd pair of whip 2's and would be stoked as FUCK if you would pick me. i love your shoe and will never wear anything besides it.

The best bmx memory of when i was a little kid was when me and 3 of my mates decided to steal some wood from his old mans house and build our own home made ramps, it took us about 2 weeks to build them all, we made a box jump a spine and a box with a grind, we never used the grinds much but we didnt know any tricks only how to do realy huge air jumps, we changed the box grind to a step up after about a week or riding on it.
It was about 3 weeks later and a few wheels that we realised that the wood was rotted right trough, we got new planks and nailed them back in.
One of the days we all gathered round i was about to jump 10 feet of a ramp we had built.
I raced up to it and hit the jump flying trough the air, and hit a little 7 year old kid running across, i nailed him right in the arm knocking me off the bike as well.
I got told that he was spweing up a few days lattle i had no clue why and i still dont to this day.
Another 1 was my best biker mate brady, his brother jumped a mini on his haro bmx bike off a huge ramp he head built, and also his 2 brothers building a home made half pipe out the back of there house.
We had some great times back in those days we didnt know a thing about fixing bikes.
All we knew was how to go big, after a few years we got a skate park and out ramps, sadly, went to the tip and got burned.

Kind of a short story of what it was like riding bikes when i was 10, 16 no and still riding hard, but better now lol.
You said let us know so now your knowing.

Peace out, ride safe.
